Godless America- Predictions from the Bible and the Founders

I am saddened for everyone who lost a family member or friend today in Oregon. There was another mass shooting there today.  There seems to be a couple a year now and we act like nothing is wrong with our national moral substance.  I am embarrassed that it has gotten to this point.   How dare we pretend that our new self-deifying moral relativity has made the world a better place!  This country is NOW more Godless than it has EVER been and what do we have to show for it?  Broken families, high teen pregnancy rates, mass murders, dissolution because of the meaninglessness of life, rampant drug and alcohol use to drown out the pain?  Kids aren’t stupid and when we teach them that our morality is what we say it is, they will soon see how empty that subjective notion is. There is no objective morals, values, duties, or truth if God does not exist.  If God is not real and what we do in life not eternally consequential the only two options people have are either living a sad/depressed life of nihilism or a happy but objectively empty life.  People choose one or the other every day. The ones who show up to school or work with a gun have a reason: nothing matters.

But at least we are talking about really important things like Donald Trumps antics.  We are very happy to talk about the latest football game or most recent celebrity break-up but do we even care about things that actually matter?

We are lazy, arrogant, narcissistic, disobedient to our parents and to God and worthy of what we get.  I do not want to say that all our problems can be easily reduced to one thing. Actually I do.  Does anyone really think that our society is more moral and virtuous today than in years, decades, and centuries past.  It is time for us to WAKE up and stop experimenting with the future. Stop pretending like there is NO God to whom we are accountable.  We need to put God in the public square and make him an important part of our conversations. How about this idea? put the TEN COMMANDMENTS back in schools! or is that too offensive for enlightened liberal parents to accept that THOU SHALL NOT MURDER is an objective and transcendent truth regardless of your religion or lack thereof.  Kids need to be taught by their parents to respect authority and to fear God.

What is the alternative? Common-sense gun control laws? Well try this on for size- Every gun law that has been passed was a “common sense” gun law (got this insight from my friend Dave). They seem to be working well.  We will never know how many mass murders have been averted by the current laws. One thing I do know is that, as long as I am responsible for defending my family, I will continue to own a gun and to support the Constitutional and God given right of a person to own a gun and protect themselves. I don’t think that taking away the guns from law-abiding citizens and patriots is going to make our streets and schools and churches and malls safer. Look at Chicago. The question is not, if these mass shootings will continue, the questions, when will the next one be.  Someone who carries a gun legally is doing the right thing.

Obviously what we are trying is NOT WORKING. Lets go back to God and his way.

I think it is proper for me to speak about this issue today.  Democrats and anti-Constitutionalists are going to try to push their agenda in the wake of this most recent shooting. They see the gun as the problem. A physical object is causing this and taking it away by force is the answer.  Every opportunity that the Democrats get to make guns completely illegal they will take it.  Every gun law passed is another step toward that final goal. This is not different from what republicans are trying to do in defunding Planned Parenthood.  It is not just about misuse of tax-payer dollars that is causing republicans to act. The main reason republicans want to defund Planned Parenthood is because they will take any steps needed small or large in order to weaken the abortion industry (Planned Parenthood being the nations largest by far) with the ultimate goal of completely stopping on-demand abortion.

Prediction in the Bible:

2 Timothy 3:1-5

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power.
