In today’s marketplace of ideas it is easy to get bogged down in the game of name-calling. The idea being that it is much easier to discount someone’s argument once their personal reputation has been soiled. Unfortunately, this seems to be “winning” strategy on all sides of the political spectrum and the election season IS its […]
Interesting article. A lot of it was over my head but it is always nice to re-confirm infighting and disagreement among naturalists. Scientists dont have the corner on truth. Science is a term broadly used today to mean “truth” (scientism). This is false however as science is merely a methodology that provides raw data. Scientists are humans who have just as many biases and dogmas as any joe on the street. The author notes how “evolution” has been used by scientists as a method of gaining power and advancing political agendas throughout recent history. On a side note, if only physical explanations of human consciousness and behavior are available (as naturalism postulates), then I would like the author to offer an alternative-more plausible option than evolutionary psychology.

I have several thoughts […]

In fact, your article was suggested to me recently and happens to be just […]
Avoid Rejecting Someone’s Argument for These Fallacious Reasons Someone could easily say of my opinions and articles “it makes sense that he believes this because of his age, gender, upbringing, class, income, education, and a number of other demographic explanations”. This reductionist tactic tries to undercut or discredit my my arguments based upon who they […]
