It’s Not Airbnb’s Job To Check Me for Bigotry (The Federalist) Airbnb is requiring all of its customers to sign a “Community Commitment” by agreeing to not discriminate based upon sexual identity and gender orientation among others. If you do not sign the agreement you cannot use their services. According to Joy Pullmann, In a supremely […]
Over the past several months I have been encouraged by finding self-identified “classical liberals” calling for more dialogue between opposing views in response to the volatile political climate. One of these voices is Dave Rubin. I respect what he is trying to do even though I disagree with him on many levels in terms of policy. He is […]
The Ridiculous Crusade for Gender-Neutral Toys
We never taught our kids any of this stuff. They just arrived at it on their own. Because—I understand that this is a radical concept—boys and girls are different….
…One of the oddities of modern life is that polite society currently insists that you are “born this way” if you are homosexual or misgendered. But when it comes to boys who like to play with swords and build fighter jets? For some reason, this is viewed as a societal construct that should be eradicated so that they’ll want to play with dolls.
As we’ve discovered at my house, this is a project that’s doomed to fail.
Why isn’t this receiving more attention in the media? *the following remark is meant to be taken sarcastically but I predict that many in North Carolina will begrudgingly align with it in coming months because of external pressures:
Wow! with all of this new pressure from so many organizations it is now obvious to me that those who disagree with the moral and sexual revolution are akin to southern racists in the Jim Crow era and should be coerced into obedience and acceptance of the new and correct views of sexuality. How could I have been so blind until now? Thanks to the help of well meaning and principled organizations, I have been convinced and can finally shake off the tired old views of past generations that have impeded social progress. Only now, after these organizations have taken hundreds of millions of dollars from the economy of North Carolina (my state) do I see how foolish and ignorant I was in my views related to bathrooms. Thank you ACC, NBA, and NCAA and the hundreds of other socially relevant groups who are taking an exemplary stand for doing the right thing.
In today’s marketplace of ideas it is easy to get bogged down in the game of name-calling. The idea being that it is much easier to discount someone’s argument once their personal reputation has been soiled. Unfortunately, this seems to be “winning” strategy on all sides of the political spectrum and the election season IS its […]
This article is based on an email that I sent to my Dad this year in January. The subject is not easy for me to share publicly but I think that it is healthy and biblical to do so (James 5:16) In January I started waking up early in the mornings before work. In […]
Humans today generally live longer and are richer than than at any other point in our history. You would think this would make us happy right? Wrong. “In 2011, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that the rate of antidepressant use in the United States rose by 400 percent between 1988 and 2008.” […]
This is water by david foster https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lu2e-q8ntM I really liked the video and message. I don’t know his background or worldview, however, I wanted to share a couple of observations: (I might be “overthinking” this) It is wonderful to hear someone calling us out to start thinking critically. We do tend to go through life […]
I think the world could use more satire. The wildly popular Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert t.v. shows provide examples of the power of satire. They are entertaining but also packed with significant meaning for many people. My only concern regarding folks (usually in my generation) who enjoy these types of programs is: making sure that we also supplement our craving for political satire with alternative, well informed and serious, information on all topics. Satirical writing and humor is used as a gateway to raise awareness but should not be the sole source of our view on reality. Satire should lead us to delve deeper into topics but not leave us content in our knowledge of a subject. Definition: sat·ire-ˈsaˌtī(ə)r/
